Here are some pages from my China notebooks. A few are from my first long stay in Sichuan, when I was a student at the Sichuan Institute of Higher Cuisine. Some are taken from notebooks I kept while living in Hunan, others from trips to Tibet, Xinjiang and Hong Kong. The messy, food-stained recipe notes are the most typical, but on more leisurely trips I like drawing or painting the faces of people I meet, as you can see.
